Colecovision Video Games

You know you're getting old when the stuff you remember from your childhood is listed as "vintage" on eBay. :-)

One such memory is the Colecovision game system. It came out in 1982, and so it has that inimitable 1980's electronics styling that involves lots of sharp corners and black high-impact plastic. It used ROM cartriges for games and could also play games made for the Atari 2600, which sounds kind of like an advanced capability for back then. Nobody ever made anything to work with anything else when it came to computers! The controller you held in your hand was a twisty joystick thing and it had a numeric keypad like a telephone.

Since it used your (ancient, non-HD) television for display, it used one of those lovely RF Adapters with the video-TV switch we all knew and loved. In terms of graphics capability, that life-like 16 colors @ 256x192 resolution was a thing of beauty! You kids today are spoiled. :-)
