What's this? Vermin motoring around recklessly, swiping cheese from unsuspecting citizens of the city?

No, no...that's what I thought, but now I've learned that a "rat rod" is something quite different. :-) In reality, a rat rod is a kind of custom car or hot rod that is reminiscent of the hot rods of the 1940's - 1960's. In some cases it has unimportant parts removed, flat/primer paint jobs and an assortment of parts from different makes and models of vehicles from the same time period.

Depending on who you talk to, a "rat rod" hot rod can be a good thing or somewhat derogatory. Either way, the sheer variety of rat rods for sale make for interesting auction browsing!
