Antique Gas Pump Globes
One of the more interesting and nostalgic collectables we've seen lately are those glass globes that were found on the top of old gas pumps. You know, back in the day when you didn't have to pump your own gas and it didn't cost over $4.00 a gallon.
Browsing the antique and reproduction gas pump globes available, I saw some brands I haven't seen since childhood. One of my favorites was always the Sinclair logo, with the big green dinosaur...letting us know what the original source of this gasoline was so many eons ago. :-) There was also some brands that are sort of still around, like Esso (i.e. Exxon), Texaco, Mobil but of course with a different style.
Seeing these old gas pump parts kind of makes you want to put the top down on a classic convertable and get your kicks on Route 66, doesn't it?
